Tunisha Singleton
Board President & Interim Treasurer

Tunisha Singleton, Ph.D. is a Media Psychologist and emerging media, marketing and digital communications consultant. In addition to business consulting and serving Fielding Graduate University’s Department of Psychology as Adjunct Faculty, Dr. Singleton has turned her attention to tackling her passion in sports, working to boost fan engagement, build community relationships, and plant engaging touch points to fasten a supportive relationship between sports and society. Dr. Singleton is the President of the BGHC Board of Directors, co-chairs the Leadership Development Committee, sits on a number of other BGHC committees, and aspires to work with more organizations on projects surrounding sports and society, mental health, multiculturalism, and race/gender/LGBTQ empowerment. Rochelle Taylor
Board Secretary & Interim Treasurer

Rochelle Taylor is an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan but is still good friends with her hometown team, the Kings. She discovered BGHC through friends and so far the best hockey related experiences have all involved BGHC and the wonderful community that is being built. Rochelle co-chairs the BGHC Leadership & Development Program, sits on the BGHC Board of Directors Financial and Executive Committees, and facilitates administrative work while outwardly amplifying the Black Girl Hockey Club mission and advocating for their voices in the community.

Fatou Bah
Board Member

Fatou Bah is an irrational DC sports fan living in NYC, whose favorite team is the Washington Capitals. She is a digital marketer, world traveler, semi-decent plant mom, and foodie. As a BGHC Board Member, she partners with organizations to help remove barriers of entry for Black girls in hockey. You can catch her cheering for Tom Wilson at various hockey arenas around the country. You can follow her hockey adventures on X at @FatouSadio

Taylor Green
Board Secretary

Taylor Green is the BGHC Communications Director and helps keep our fans and followers up to date on all of our events and programming via our newsletter and other communications methods. She chairs BGHC’s Communications Committee, sits on the Scholarship Committee and is an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan.

Ashley Price
Board Member

Dr. Ashley Price, Ph.D., MPH, has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Black Girl Hockey Club since 2021. In her professional capacity, she serves as the Senior Research Program Leader for the Department of Family Medicine and Community at Duke University School of Medicine. Committed to enhancing the outreach and sustainability of the Black Girl Hockey Club, Dr. Price contributes her expertise in grant writing and data analytics to the board’s initiatives.

Sophie Jaques
Board Member

Sophie Jaques is a Canadian Ice hockey defenceman who wrapped up a successful five-year career in the NCAA in 2023. She was selected by Boston in the second round, 10th overall, in the inaugural PWHL Draft and was signed to a three-year contract. In February 2024, she was traded to PWHL Minnesota and would go on to lift the inaugural Walter Cup with her new squad. As a black (biracial) athlete, in a predominantly white sport, she works to inspire and mentor young athletes, motivating them to envision themselves in her position. She played at The Ohio State University where she earned many academic and athletic honours including the Arthur Ashe Jr. Female Sports Scholar of the Year. In 2022 her team won their first ever National Championship. Recently Jaques was named the 2023 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award winner. She was the first Black winner of the Award, presented annually to the top player in Division I hockey. After graduating magna cum laude last May with a degree in civil engineering, she accepted a fellowship to earn her master’s degree in civil engineering at Ohio State. She graduated with her master’s in August 2023. She is a recent Board member of the Black Girl Hockey Club and is committed to working with communities and community partners to remove barriers to the game, to bring about positive change and to build inclusive spaces.

Gary Luisi
Board Member

Gary Luisi grew up in Arcadia, CA and still lives in the San Gabriel Valley. He grew up with the game of hockey, playing up until College Club hockey in the ACHA, and overseas in Thailand and China. He has been organizing charity hockey games for over a decade as the founder of Pucks for Pups, a non-profit raising money for local no-kill animal shelters in California and Nevada. He has 3 children, all of whom play hockey, and he is committed to making hockey a better place for everyone.

R. Renee Hess
Founder/Executive Director

The Black Girl Hockey Club (BGHC) was founded in 2018 by R. Renee Hess to create a community space for Black women in hockey. She acts as the Executive Director and works with various BGHC committees, hosts webinar and panel events while networking with various hockey entities on anti-racism initiatives. Renee proudly advocates for Black women in hockey through education, representation, and community building. Her favorite team is the Pittsburgh Penguins and she has at least one hockey-related tattoo. In Renee’s “spare time,” she is writing a book about race, hockey, and community.

Windsor Lindor
Board Advisor

Windsor Lindor is a nationally acclaimed Certified Executive-Life Coach, Project Manager, Business Consultant, CEO and Founder of Windsor Lindor Consulting, LLC. Mr. Lindor is a Board Advisor for multiple profit and non-profit organizations. He also provides executive coaching, leadership coaching, and business consulting services to men, women, and business owners.

Corinne Douglas
Board Advisor

Corinne McIntosh-Douglas, a Brooklyn, NY native, is currently the president of Capitol Site Logistics, a construction logistics operation in Washington, DC. Corinne remains active in the DC community and has been a board member of Habitat for Humanity of Washington, DC and Northern Virginia for over 10 years, supporting the development of affordable housing in the nations' Capitol and surrounding area. A keen supporter of non-traditional roles, her other non-profit Board activities include working as an advisor to the Black Girl Hockey Club, LLC, as a member of the Washington Capitals Black Hockey Committee (Go Caps!), and a member of the Color of Hockey.
