Speaking of Sophie, Sonny Sachdeva of Sportsnet wrote a wonderful piece chronicling Sophie's path to hockey excellence, from becoming the first Black woman to win the Patty Kazmaier award at Ohio State and the Walter Cup in Minnesota, to her commitment to BGHC.

Highlighting our scholarship players is one of our greatest joys at BGHC. Chyna Taylor is the 1st player from Kentucky to represent Team USA on the ice.

Congratulations to Alix Kennerly and the NOVA Ice Dogs
Shoutout to DC Impact Grant Recipient Alix Kennerly for her amazing play in multiple games!
On February 2nd, Alix was key to her team winning the 14/16U Chesapeake Bay Hockey League championship. She led all players in scoring in the league.
3 weeks later on February 23rd, Alix scored a hat trick, securing the Mid-Atlantic Women's Hockey Association championship.
Thank you to Board Advisor Corinne Douglas for always championing Black players in the DMV and to Alix's dad, Iman Kennerly, for coaching his team to victory!
